CA CAC ISSUES CONTROVERSIAL RECOMMENDATIONS
The Cannabis Advisory Committee (CAC) has published its Status of the Advisory Committee’s Adopted Recommendations in the Current and Proposed Regulations of the Bureau of Cannabis Control, California Department of Food and Agriculture, and California Department of Public Health that were adopted by the full committee in March 2018. The recommendations are being submitted at this time so that they are included in the public record and are considered as part of the rule making process. Committee members will be able to submit additional comments as individuals for consideration as a part of the public rule making process. Individual committee members and members of the public voiced concerns that recommendations do not take into consideration information that was learned since March 2018 or work by subcommittees that was not formalized through subcommittee recommendations. The time period for public comment ends on August 27th, which leaves little time for individual committee members to submit additional recommendations.
The CAC voted to submit the report to all three regulatory agencies as a part of the public rule making process. Statutory recommendations will be submitted for consideration.
