Under the new limit, registered cardholders can purchase 8 ounces of usable marijuana in one day but no more than 32 ounces in one calendar month. In August, the OLCC temporarily reduced the limit from 24 ounces to 1 ounce, which is the same limit as recreational marijuana, after inventory data revealed that certain registered cardholders were purchasing the maximum amount of medical marijuana on a daily basis. Due to the frequency and size of the purchases, the OLCC immediately implemented a temporary rule that was effective from August 24 through December 27, 201 8.
