Vermont Bill Authorizes Use of Workers’ Compensation Benefits for Medical Marijuana Prescriptions

The Vermont House introduced H.14 which authorizes the use of workers’ compensation benefits to cover medical marijuana prescriptions. The bill requires the injured employee to obtain the medical marijuana from a dispensary. The medical marijuana must also provide relief to the symptoms related to the workplace injury. If enacted, the new law would be effective July 1, 2019.
