Unofficial results as of the morning of November 4, 2026

Georgia voters decided 132 local ballot questions in 80 counties on November 3, 2026. On unofficial counts, 118 passed and 14 failed. Every local question shows all of its precincts reporting, and 4,209,807 ballots were cast, according to the Secretary of State’s results site. The results become final when counties certify them.

The numbers so far

**53** local sales tax referendums in 45 counties: 43 passing, 10 failing

**21** school district questions: all 21 passing, including all 11 ESPLOST renewals

**42** homestead exemption and related property-tax questions: all 42 passing

**3 of 10** transportation sales taxes (TSPLOST) passing

**More than $4.5 billion** in sales tax authority, counting the four questions whose caps we have confirmed so far

## School districts: a clean sweep

All 21 school district questions passed. That includes all 11 education sales tax (ESPLOST) renewals, two school general obligation bond questions, seven homestead exemptions from school property taxes and Chatham County’s school board tax referendum, which passed with 77.1%.

The three largest ESPLOSTs, with their confirmed caps, would raise up to **$3.36 billion** over five years:

**Fulton County:** up to $2.10 billion for Fulton County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools, 68.4% yes

**DeKalb County:** up to $1.05 billion for DeKalb County Schools, Atlanta Public Schools and City Schools of Decatur, 81.0% yes

**Clarke County:** up to $215 million, 72.3% yes

The same questions authorize general obligation bonds backed by the tax: up to $500 million for DeKalb County Schools, $350 million for Atlanta Public Schools and $75 million for Clarke County Schools. In the two stand-alone school bond questions, Trion City Schools passed with 71.8% and Tattnall County Schools with 62.2%.

## Counties and cities: voters said yes to most taxes, but not to roads

The 53 local sales tax referendums split sharply by purpose:

Property-tax relief sales taxes (FLOST and similar): 16 questions, all 16 passing

Education sales taxes (ESPLOST): 11 questions, all 11 passing

General county and city sales taxes (SPLOST): 14 questions, 11 passing

One-percent sales taxes whose purpose the results do not state (Hancock and Montgomery counties): 2 questions, both passing

Transportation sales taxes (TSPLOST): 10 questions, 3 passing

Cobb County’s SPLOST renewal, reported at $1.15 billion, passed with 62.0%. The TSPLOSTs that failed include Henry County (48.4% yes), Oconee, Madison, Greene, Hart, Lamar and Putnam counties. Fulton County’s 0.75% TSPLOST outside Atlanta passed narrowly, with 50.8%.

Property-tax questions passed across the board. All 42 homestead exemption and related property-tax questions passed, many by wide margins. Voters also approved all 15 alcohol sales questions and all three freeport exemption questions.

## Results that stand out

### A 16-vote bond question in Peach County

Peach County’s general obligation debt question failed 5,033 to 5,049, a margin of 16 votes, on the same ballot where voters approved the county’s TSPLOST.

### Effingham: yes to tax relief, no to the SPLOST

Effingham County voters rejected the one-percent SPLOST by 140 votes (12,300 to 12,440) while approving the Homeowner’s Incentive Program with 89.0%.

### Union County voters split their answers

Union County approved both its SPLOST and its ESPLOST but rejected an advisory referendum, 41.4% to 58.6%.

### Lopsided votes on governance

Forsyth County voters approved term limits for the Board of Commissioners with 92.3%, one of the widest margins of any local question.

## What comes next

Georgia counties certify their results in the days after the election. Every precinct on these questions has reported. Our read: few results are likely to change, and Peach County’s 16-vote margin is the one most likely to draw a closer look. Fourteen questions were decided by less than two percentage points.
